Apple announced the new Iphone 5S and the Iphone 5C. This two phones pack a few interesting surprises for all of us. The new Iphone 5c, is a “cheap” version, at 99$ with a two year contract for the 16 Gb version. This will sound expensive compared to the Nexus for at 250$ without contract. The real interesting thing about the Apple’s Iphone presentation was the new Iphone 5S. This new model is packed with some really interesting things.
The first big surprise with the new Iphone 5S, is the new 64-bit CPU (A7), and OpenGL 3.0 support. This means that Apple might have the fastest phone in the market at the moment. Apple promised a phone with desktop-like performance, although this might be a stretch. Especially considering that the Iphone 5S it only has 1GB of RAM. This means that this Iphone won’t be too good at multitasking.
One thing that Apple is dominating is with the quality of their cameras, and with this new phone things won’t be different. The new 8 megapixel camera has a 15% bigger sensor, and it has a little neat function to record super-slow 720p video at 120 FPS. They also changed the LED flash, and now you can change the temperature of the light to take better pictures in low light environments.
New features in the new Iphone
We have 2 new big features in the apple ecosystem. One is a new type of sensor, named “Motion co-processor”. This chip (M7) will read all the motion inputs (accerometer, gyrocospe and compass) of the phone continually, saving battery power and making this new Iphone the perfect fitness companion.
There is one more interesting feature added to the Iphone family: a digital fingerprint reader. This will add a new layer of security to your phone, and new privacy concern.
